Lab Bar Code Scanning Piloted!   October, 2005

The Express Courier team is proud to announce that a lab bar code scanning system is currently being piloted. With the success of the CT Lottery scanning system and the outcry from current and prospective clients for a lab based bar coding system, the Express Courier team began the long process of developing, trial & error and testing a system that would work for our clients. On September 19th we launched the pilot program in the Boston area. We are currently refining the processes and systems, but the project is a success. This system was designed specifically for the coding and tracking of lab specimens from hospital outreach programs and major laboratories. The system is fully scalable, taking you as far as you need to go. With the ability to track the driver's progress through GPS, add or changes routes with little fuss, and complete accountability through all levels of the delivery process, this will greatly expand Express' tracking and reporting capabilities. This is a huge leap forward for Express and all its clients and potential clients.

We are proud to report that the CT Lottery awarded the lottery ticket delivery contract to Express Courier. As of April 1st, 2005, Express will be responsible for the deliver of all the lottery tickets for the state of Connecticut.

The lottery ticket delivery process will include the use of Symbol SPT 1800 Palm units. These palms will be used to scan and track each package. This is a great move forward for Express and all its clients and potential clients.

Technology Update in Progress   March, 2005

Currently, the Express Courier website is being redesigned for more effective usage for our client and potential clients. The new website will feature a client log in option on the homepage, making the placement of orders faster than ever before. This will also give potential clients access to information and contacts for the Express team.

A sample login for potential clients to see how the automated order placement system works will be available when requested. Express is also working on implementing a new barcoding and GPS system through Nextel. The barcoding option would be similar to the Lottery system that Express effectively rolled out in April. All of these updates to Express technology is only going to improve customer service, tracking of packages and courier response time.
